Experience the life of the mind.

An annual October tradition since 1980, Humanities Day invites curious thinkers into the classrooms of the University of Chicago to hear a variety of tours, performances, discussions, and lectures from the award-winning faculty of the Division of the Humanities.

Dozens of presentations that represent all the academic departments of the Division of the Humanities are scheduled over three sessions. The day’s programming also includes a keynote address by a senior faculty member selected by the Dean of the Division.

Since its inception in 1980, Humanities Day has been a project of the Division of the Humanities, one of the University of Chicago’s five graduate divisions.

Humanities Day is made possible by the generous support of the UChicago Division of the Humanities Council. Additional support each year is provided by the Office of the Reynolds Club and Student Activities, Oriental Institute, Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts, and Seminary Co-op Bookstores.
