About Humanities Day

Experience the life of the mind.

An annual October tradition since 1980, Humanities Day invites curious thinkers into the classrooms of the University of Chicago to hear a variety of tours, performances, discussions, and lectures from the award-winning faculty of the Division of the Humanities.

Dozens of presentations that represent all the academic departments of the Division of the Humanities are scheduled over three sessions. The day’s programming also includes a keynote address by a senior faculty member selected by the Dean of the Division.
